The Illinois Housing Development Authority officially reopened its application portal for its Illinois Rental Payment Program on December 6th. Both renters and landlords are eligible to apply for up to $25,000 in rental assistance through the program. Applications will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. on January 9th at illinoishousinghelp.org.
The portal was originally scheduled to reopen on November 8th; however, it was delayed. While the date for the program reopening was delayed, money from this round will still be distributed to approved Illinoisans before the end of the year as originally scheduled.
Those needing assistance with their applications can contact an Illinois Department of Human Services’ Service Provider Agency. A list of Provider Agencies can be found here.
